Joel Bode - Head of School

Joel BodeJoel Bode graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1983. His first position in the teaching ministry was as a business teacher at Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, NY. He then served as a teacher at Luther High School North in Chicago. After two years in private business, Joel was hired to serve at Holy Cross High School in River Grove, IL. In 1994 Mr. Bode moved to Montgomery, TX and worked in the middle school there for two years before taking a position at Westfield High School in Spring ISD. After two years at Wells Middle School as an assistant principal, Joel came to Concordia Lutheran High School to serve as assistant principal. He completed his Master's of Education in School Management at Sam Houston State University in 1999. Mr. Bode served as the Principal of Concordia from 2001-2010 when he became the Head of School. He also served as chair of the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools (ALSS) Board of Directors. Joel and his wife, Judy, have four children. Jeremiah is married with a son and two daughters currently living in Phoenix after serving as a United States Marine, Rachel is married with two sons and is a CPA, Amanda lives in Austin and is a personal trainer and a real estate agent, and Sarah is in an accounting Master's program with KPMG at Villanova University.

Rory Duffy - Admissions Director

Rory DuffyRory Duffy graduated from Concordia University Austin with a degree in Human Resource Management. In 2011 she completed her colloquy to become a called worker in the LCMS. Rory taught health and P.E. at Trinity Lutheran School in Klein for ten years. During that time she coached volleyball, basketball and softball . In 2007, Rory began her career at Concordia, which included working at the Attendance desk and teaching Health, Theology and P.E.. She also coached volleyball, softball and tennis and enjoyed being a part of State Championships in both volleyball and tennis. Rory and her husband Jim, have four children that have all attended Concordia Lutheran High School.

Julie Kangas - Principal

Julie KangasJulie Kangas graduated from Concordia University Irvine in 1992 and completed her California Clear Teaching Credential in 1993. Her first Call was to Zion Lutheran Church and Schools in Anaheim, California where she served for twenty-five years. She taught 4th grade for seven years, and then completed her Masters degree from Pepperdine University in Educational Administration as well as her Administrative Credential in 1999. At that time, she was not ready to leave the classroom, but was ready for a new challenge so she moved up to teach 7th & 8th grade in middle school and also served as Assistant Principal. In 2002, she served as Interim Principal and was formally Called as Principal in 2003. After a few years, she stepped back into the classroom for one period a day to teach upper level math in the middle school as a way to stay connected to teaching and learning. She was selected to be a Van Lunen Fellow through Calvin College in Michigan that trains educational leaders in executive management. She has served on the Board of Directors at Lutheran High School in Orange County, and as President of the Orange County Lutheran Educators Conference. She is excited to join Concordia as Principal and see how the Lord will use her in this new ministry. Julie has been married to Sean Kangas for seventeen years. Sean is also in Lutheran Education and serves at Trinity-Klein Lutheran in Spring, TX. Julie and Sean have two children Matthew (13) and Mackenzie (10).

Matt Neidigk - Athletics Director

Matt NeidigkMatthew Neidigk graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1997. He then began his teaching at Concordia Lutheran HS in Tomball. After two years at Concordia, Mr. Neidigk moved to Lutheran North High School in Macomb, Michigan where he served as History and Theology teacher, as well as Head Girls' Basketball Coach for 9 years, before becoming Athletic Director. Mr. Neidigk then moved back to Texas where he served as History Teacher, Head Baseball and Football Coach at Lutheran High North in Houston for four years, and then spent a year at Klein Collins HS as an assistant football and track coach while teaching United States History. Matt then returned to his alma mater, Concordia Lutheran HS in 2006, where he as served as History and Theology teacher, as well as Head Girls Basketball Coach for the past 9 years, before becoming Athletic Director. Matt and his wife Lindsay, have four children Jackson, Ryan, Lauren, and Alyson.

Matthew Schleicher - Assistant Principal

Matthew SchleicherMatthew Schleicher graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon) in December of 2001. He immediately took a teaching position at Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park, Illinois. While at Trinity, Mr. Schleicher was one of the 7th grade homeroom teachers and taught all of the middle school science classes. The next year, Mr. Schleicher began using his secondary education training by moving to the Detroit, Michigan area to teach and coach soccer at Lutheran High School Northwest (Rochester Hills, MI). Mr. Schleicher taught both on-level and Advanced Placement Biology during each of his four years in Michigan. Starting with the 2006-2007 school year, Mr. Schleicher joined the ministry team at CLHS. While teaching on-level and AP Biology as well as Anatomy & Physiology courses at Concordia, Schleicher earned his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University Nebraska (December, 2007). Mr. Schleicher has served as Assistant Principal since July , 2008. Matthew and his wife, Kim, have three sons: Ian (age 7), Ryan (age 4), and Nathan (age 1).

Andrew Schultz - Assistant Principal

Andrew SchultzAndrew Schultz graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in December 2009 with a degree in Secondary Education. He completed the Masters in Educational Administration program through Concordia University, Texas in April 2016. He was called to Concordia Lutheran High School in August 2010 and has served as a Physics teacher and Theatre Director. Andrew now serves both in and out of the classroom during the day, splitting time between teaching Engineering and AP Physics and partnering with the administration team as an Assistant Principal. He enjoys the dynamics of this dual role and the opportunities it provides to serve and partner with students. He also cherishes being able to continue directing theatre productions alongside his wife Melanie, who teaches Theatre and Theology at CLHS.

Jonathan Schleicher - Director of Development

Jonathan Schleicher Jonathan Schleicher graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in 2011 with bachelor degrees in Marketing and Business Administration and a minor in Finance. Jonathan joined the Concordia ministry in June 2014 after serving the Lutheran Hour Ministries (St. Louis, Mo.) advancement team as a major gift/planned giving officer for 2.5 years. Prior to Lutheran Hour Ministries, Jonathan worked in the advancement and marketing offices at Concordia University, Nebraska (Seward, Neb.) and was a tennis professional at the Lincoln Racquet Club (Lincoln, Neb.). With his Masters in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Marys of Minnesota and the Certificate Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) distinction, Jonathan offers expertise in estate plans, trusts, gift annuities, life insurance gifts, property and direct gifts and endowed scholarships. Jonathan has been married for 6 years to his wife, Chelsea, who teaches 8th grade English part-time at Trinity Lutheran School in Spring, TX and stays at home with their two sons - Isaiah and Noah.

Ryan Neuhaus | Spiritual Life Director

Ryan NeuhausRyan Neuhaus graduated from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX in 1999. Then he and his wife, Jill, moved to St. Louis, Mo where he attended and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary with a MDIV in 2005. Ryan’s first call was to be a missionary at large in Buda, Texas with his best friend Rev. Paul Goeke . There these two men worked full-time in the community while planting The Well Lutheran Church. While being a Pastor at The Well, Ryan worked at Home Depot for a year, and then the Lord opened up a position for Ryan in the Hays Consolidated School District. There he taught in Life Skills for a year, Economics and Government for three, and he spent two years teaching at-risk elementary students social and leadership skills. Ryan joined Concordia Lutheran High School in the summer of 2012. Ryan and his wife, Jill, have three children – Jane, Adele, and Vincent.
