What do you love about Concordia Lutheran High School, and why are you here?
What I love about Concordia is the relationship I have developed with the students. While I enjoy our time in classroom, I have also enjoyed the times students have just dropped by to talk after school while waiting for a ride or in between activities. Concordia also provides me with the ability to not just relate to the student as an educator, but as a Christian. Finally, the world does not make it easy to be Christian. I strive to provide students with a solid foundation in their faith that they may stand upon and challenge the world we live in, but do so in a manner that reflects Christ’s love for all humanity.
What do you love about Jesus?
Two reasons I love Jesus. First: The all-powerful God took on a human form and gave his life for me, paying a debt I could never pay. Second, while I am not a theological scholar, it occurs to me that if you were to take the “solemnity” out of reading the Bible and listening to scripture, you would come away with an image of Jesus who was just fun to be around.  It is fairly obvious statement, but Jesus always had the perfect response. Whether he was relating to “the masses” with parables, or his constant back-and-forth with the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes, and especially his interactions with the disciples, he was brilliant.  To be sure, Jesus also faced adversity, and displayed a range of human emotions including grief, anger and sadness. But it is this humanity that makes Jesus relatable –even though he was God in human form – and inspires me to work on my spiritual relationship with him, and work to be an example of Christ’s love to others.
When I have free time I enjoy...

I enjoy spending time with my family - my wife Carmen, Stepdaughter Julia, and two dogs, Bo and Baylee, as well as my immediate and extended family; I also enjoy Aggie football, soccer, reading, watching movies and TV.
