Concordia Celebrates 2022 Homecoming and Commits to Build a HOME in Costa Rica

Concordia’s 2022 Homecoming Festivities featured the football game, the band and cheerleaders performing, alumni class reunions and tailgates, homecoming court nominees, and a check presentation for the Global Embrace Mission Trip.

Concordia Students Raise Funds to Build a HOME

Every year for Homecoming at Concordia, we encourage our students and families to "Go Small or Not at All" when it comes to mums. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on mums, we ask our Concordia community to consider making a charitable contribution to help a real “HOME” coming by building a home for a family in need in Costa Rica as part of our Global Embrace Mission Trip.

On this trip, students will spend a week helping build, paint, and furnish the HOME while spending time with the family in need. The cost of each home build in Costa Rica is $9,000 and all donations and proceeds from t-shirt sales supported this goal.

Mr. Vasquez’ Marketing Class led the fundraiser this year as the class came up with the t-shirt design as well as completing all the various marketing measures to make sure the event was a success. Shirts were sold in different colors representing the different classes. In total, almost 400 shirts were sold, and 25 families made donations to the Costa Rica Mission Trip for a grand total of $12,725 in just two weeks!

If you would like to support this project, donations can be made at www.clhs-tx.org/give and select “Other Programs” under Donation Categories and then select “Global Embrace Mission Trips.” Thank you all for your support as we were able to provide a true “HOME” coming for a family in need!

The Costa Rica Mission Trip will take place March 10-15, 2023, and students interested in participating should contact Pastor Neuhaus to learn more about it.

Crusaders Fall to Warriors in Homecoming Football Game

In a battle between neighboring schools that are only 15 miles apart, The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors (3-2) defeated the Concordia Crusaders (4-1) by the score of 38-7 for this year’s Homecoming game. The game was close in the first half and the highlight of the game on offense came when RB Ryan E. (Sr.) scored on a 35-yard TD pass from QB Tanner H. (So.) in the 2nd quarter.

Next up for the Crusaders is a trip to Kubiak Stadium in Houston when Concordia visits St. Pius X Catholic High School on Friday, Oct. 7th for their first district game of the 2022 season. Last year, the Crusaders defeated the Panthers 9-7.

Concordia Alumni Network Class Reunions & Tailgate

The Concordia Alumni Network (C.A.N.) hosted class reunions for the Classes of 1992, 2002, and 2012 for their 30-year, 20-year, and 10-year reunions on Friday, Sept. 30th from 5-7 pm in the Commons. Memorabilia, yearbooks, programs, and pictures from each of these honored years in Concordia’s history were on display. The reunions also included appetizers catered by Concordia’s Culinary 3 classes.

In addition to the class reunions, in the north endzone of Schroeder Stadium, C.A.N. provided a tailgate with Rib Tickler dinner for all Alumni and Alumni Parents before and during the game. It was great to see so many Crusaders gathered together again!
