Mr. Jacob Vasquez named as Crusader Employee of the Year for 2022-2023

Each year, the Concordia Lutheran High School faculty, staff, administration, and coaches nominate and then vote for one employee to receive the Crusader Employee of the Year Award.

This award is presented to someone who embodies the values Concordia strives for in our Core Values: Christ-Centered, Relationships, Collaboration, Stewardship, and Excellence. Mr. Jacob Vasquez is a true champion for our ministry at Concordia and well-deserved winner of this award!

Here are two submissions from colleagues that went along with his nomination:

  • "Jacob pours himself into our students both academically and through extra-curricular activities. He puts in countless hours during both fall and spring semesters to encourage and guide our football players and tracksters with Christian values, wisdom, and understanding as well as everyday life lessons they need to function in today’s world. He does all this along with doing an outstanding job in the classroom. Students share that his projects are creative, engaging, and spark their interest."
  • "Mr. Vasquez displays all of the attributes that make up Concordia’s values. He was one of the first to welcome me as a new teacher, he attends games of various sports, and he shows appreciation for others when they help out."

Vasquez has been a part of Concordia’s ministry for 16 years dating back to 2007, when he started teaching and coaching. In his time at CLHS, he has coached football and track as well as taught in the Social Studies and Business departments.

Thank you, Mr. Vasquez, for serving our students, families, colleagues, and school so well!
