Excellence Award Recipients for 2023-2024 School Year

Every May, Concordia honors various students with awards from each Academic Department as well as the Fine Arts and Athletic Departments. In addition to the department awards, Concordia honors five students for the Crusader Awards with faculty and staff nominating and voting for the winners from each grade as well as a new transfer student. The list of the awards is below, and we are very proud of all our students!

Crusader Awards:

  • Freshman Crusader Award – Reid Traeger
  • Sophomore Crusader Award – Lucas Winetrout
  • Junior Crusader Award – Nathaniel Held
  • Senior Crusader Award – Matthew Garza
  • Transfer Crusader Award – Mirielle Canovas

 

Senior Excellence Awards:

  • Excellence in Art – Kaelan McBrayer
  • Excellence in Agriculture Sciences – Blythe Brooks
  • Excellence in Choral Music – Melissa Oblinger
  • Excellence in English – Megan Brady
  • Excellence in Instrumental Music – Matthew Swan
  • Excellence in Math – Megan Brady
  • Excellence in Science – Megan Brady
  • Excellence in Social Studies – Megan Brady
  • Excellence in Theatre Arts – Melissa Oblinger
  • Excellence in Theology – Ashlyn Graham

 

Fine Arts Awards:

  • TAPPS Fine Arts Female Student of the Year Candidate – Jaden Thibodeau
  • TAPPS Fine Arts Male Student of the Year Candidate – Nathaniel Held
  • CLHS Performing Arts Female Student of the Year – Melissa Oblinger
  • CLHS Performing Arts Male Student of the Year – Matthew Garza

 

Athletics Awards:

  • Concordia Female Christian Athlete of the Year – Adele Neuhaus
  • Concordia Male Co-Christian Athlete of the Year – Christian Johnson
  • Concordia Male Co-Christian Athlete of the Year – Jackson Neidigk
  • Concordia Female Scholar Athlete of the Year – Kaelan McBrayer
  • Concordia Male Scholar Athlete of the Year – Benjamin Hubenak
  • Concordia Female Athlete of the Year – Adele Neuhaus (Volleyball, Basketball, and Track & Field)
  • Concordia Male Athlete of the Year – Nolan Traeger (Baseball)

 

In addition to these department awards, 3 Crusader students were honored as AP Scholars by The College Board. This award is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Three additional Concordia students were honored as AP Scholars with Honor by The College Board. This award is granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 or higher on all AP Exam grades on 4 or more of these exams.

  • Megan Brady
  • Kaelan McBrayer
  • Cesar Parizot

Many students will be taking additional AP Exams this May and could earn a status that includes AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, or AP Scholar with Distinction.

Finally, Kaelan McBrayer was honored as a National Merit Commended Scholar. McBrayer earned this designation by having placed in the top 50,000 scores on the PSAT out of over 1.5 million test-takers.
