Eleven Crusader seniors committed to participate in fine arts at the next level during the 2025 Spring Semester. These seniors took part in the Concordia’s Fine Arts Signing Day with many receiving scholarship funds tied to their involvement in their major and extra-curricular groups. Other seniors will be pursuing involvement in an art through an audition process for voluntary fine arts events that represent their institution.
- Eliza Alman ’25 (Choir) signed with Concordia University, Irvine (Irvine, CA) for a Music Scholarship and will major in Theology. She will also participate in the CUI Worship Band and Choir. Alman was a four-year member of Concordia Lutheran High School’s Concert Choir and also participated in the Messengers Worship Arts Chapel Band.
- Levi Barbish ’25 (Theatre & Band) will attend Stephen F. Austin University (Nacogdoches, TX) and will major in Mechanical Engineering. Barbisch also plans to audition for Theatre productions at SFA. Barbisch was a member of The Concordia Players theatre group participating in One Act Plays and the Winter 2024 Musical, The Little Mermaid. He also was a member of the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band for Concordia.
- Sarah Chang ’25 (Band) signed with Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) for a Semmes Scholarship (full tuition) for a double major in Neuroscience and Music. Chang will also participate in the Trinity Wind Symphony and also showcase her Classical Piano skill. Chang was a member of the Concordia Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Drumline, Messengers Worship Arts Chapel Band, and Art team.
- Angelicia Garcia ’25 (Choir) signed with Concordia University, Nebraska (Seward, NE) for a Music Scholarship and will major in Chemistry and will participate in one of the university’s choirs. Garcia was a three-year member of the Concordia Lutheran High School’s Concert Choir and also a member of the school’s Treble Choir in her freshman year.
- Nate Held ’25 (Band, Choir, and Esports) signed with Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) for a Music Scholarship and will major in Biology. He will also participate in the Trinity Wind Symphony and Jazz ensemble. Held was a member of the Concordia Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Drumline, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Esports team. He was also honored as the TAPPS 6A 2023-2024 Male Fine Arts Student of the Year for his junior year and has been nominated again for 2024-2025 (award announced July 2025). Additionally, Held was named to the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) All-State Jazz Band in his senior season and was a State Champion in Esports for League of Legends.
- Selena Lemmon ’25 (Choir) signed with Belmont University (Nashville, TN) for a Music Scholarship for a double major in Music Business and Legal Studies. Lemmon will also participate in The Belmont Chorale, the flagship, classical choral ensemble of the School of Music at Belmont. Lemmon was honored as a rare four-time TPSMEA All-State Vocalist and was also named the top overall Soprano 2 vocalist in Region 3 of Texas Private Schools the last two years. She was a four-year member of the Concordia Concert Choir, a three-year member of the Chamber Choir, and also participated in the Messengers Worship Arts Chapel Band.
- Major Meyer ’25 (Theatre, Band, and Choir) will attend Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX) and will major in Creative Media and minor in Theatre. Meyer plans to audition for Theatre productions at TTU. Meyer was a member of The Concordia Players theatre group participating in One Act Plays and Musicals as well as a four-year member of the Symphonic Band and a three-year member of the Concert Choir. He was recently nominated and then named a finalist for the Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) annual Houston musical awards show, The Tommy Tunes, as an Outstanding Lead for his role as “Claude Frollo” in Concordia’s Winter Musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The award will be given on Friday, June 6th at the annual awards show.
- Annabelle Naylor ’25 (Band and Choir) will attend Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, TX) and will major in History and Education. Naylor will also participate in the Jazz Ensemble at SHSU. She was an active member in the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band for four years, participated in the Messengers Worship Arts Chapel Band for four years, was part of the inaugural String Ensemble this year, a member of the Concert Choir this year.
- Annabel Raymer ’25 (Band) will attend Baylor University (Waco, TX) and will major in Business & Entrepreneurship and minor in Church Music. Raymer will also participate in the BU Golden Wave Marching Band. She was an active member in Symphonic Band and Jazz Band.
- Cara Shirley ’25 (Art) will attend University of Texas (Austin, TX) and will major in Graphic Design at the School of Design and Creative Technologies at UT. Shirley was an active member in the Concordia Art Team for four years. While competing and representing the Crusaders, she earned several honors including the 2D Mixed Media State Title in 2024, Black & White Seek & Sketch State Title in 2023, and three State Runner-Up finishes over the last three years.
- Lucas Wallace-Hesson ’25 (Choir) signed with Baylor University (Waco, TX) for a music scholarship and will major in Music Education. Wallace-Hesson plans to audition for a university choir. He was an active member in Concert Choir and Chamber Choir for four years as well as a member of the Messengers Worship Arts Chapel Band for four years.
