Important School Information

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Concordia! The information below covers many important items that current and incoming families need to know as you prepare for the year aheaad.

Please note that several forms and action items must be completed before your student's first day. These required items will be organized as a checklist through the MyCLHS Parent and Student Portal.

1.) School Supplies Clarification

School supply needs at Concordia vary by teacher and course. Rather than a general supply list, individual teachers may suggest specific materials after distributing their syllabus - some items may also be tied to classroom activities or extra credit opportunities. Students should come prepared with basic organizational materials and await their teachers' guidance for anything course specific.

2.) Graphic Calculator Requirement

All students will be expected to supply their own TI-Nspire CX II (non-CAS) calculator every day in math class for all years of math at CLHS. More details about the TI-Nspire CX II can be found HERE.

Notes:

- Do not purchase the CAS version of the TI-Nspire CX II calculator as that model is not allowed in CLHS math classes and is no longer permitted on the SAT or ACT.

- Teachers will not provide instruction for alternate calculator models.

- Students are expected to bring a fully charged calculator to class each day.

- Concordia will not provide loaner calculators or charging options.

4.) CLHS Provided Student Email

Every Concordia student is issued a school-managed email account, created and maintained by CLHS. This account serves as the student's key to Google Classroom, The MyCLHS Portal, and other school communications throughout the year.

Returning students will continue using their existing student email account with no changes required. Incoming freshmen and transfer students will set up their new account as part of the enrollment process; step-by-step log in instructions are provided below in the attached document.

5.) Cell Phone Free School Day Policy

We will continue enforcing our Cell Phone Free School Day Policy. Please review the full policy linked below. Returning students will be required to use their Yondr pouch from 2025-2026 school year or will be issued a new one for a replacement fee the first week of school. New students (freshmen and transfers) will be issued a Yondr pouch at no charge during their Final Registration process.

We maintain clear expectations for student cell phone use during the day. The use of cell phones and all connected devices - including smartwatches, wireless earbuds, headphones, tablets, Meta glasses, and other electronic communication devices - is not permitted during school hours. From 8:00 am – 3:15 pm, students are required to keep all devices powered off and secured in their Yondr pouch throughout all areas of campus.

Students may access their CLHS-issued email accounts during the day as needed. Parents may contact the school office to reach their student's during school hours. Students may also come to the front office to make a phone call if necessary. Teachers will continue utilizing Google Classroom and email to communicate with students and families and will maintain classroom practices that align with a cell-phone free learning environment.

In the event of an emergency, all communication will come through official school channels. Safety remains our top priority, and we appreciate your partnership in maintaining a focused and secure learning environment.

7.) Summer Reading Assignment Reminder

Every Concordia student, no matter when they enrolled, will complete the summer reading assignment independently. The only exception will be students enrolled in English IV do not have a summer reading assignment.

English I, English I CAPP, English II, English II CAPP, and English III students will complete an assignment and a test over the book at the beginning of the school year, which will be added to their first semester grade. English III DC and English IV AP will also have assignments due before the beginning of school.

8.) Student School Pictures

School pictures will be taken at final registration and students must come in dress code. Online ordering is now open at https://accessmyevent.com/FNSK99 Photo orders are due ON OR BEFORE Final Registration, on Wednesday, Aug. 12th. Students not in compliance with dress code will not be allowed to have their pictures taken. For your convenience, the Standards of Dress and Grooming are listed below.

9.) Student Parking Registration

Student drivers must register their vehicles and will receive an assigned parking space/permit for the 2026-2027 school year. Registration for all student drivers can be completed beginning at Monday, Aug. 3rd at 9am via this link: www.tinyurl.com/CLHSParkingRegistration

Only students with a driver's license and parking on campus will be issued a parking space. Students who have already completed the process prior to Final Registration will receive their parking tag during Final Registration.

10.) School Lunch Program

Concordia's hot lunch provider, Our Father's Table, LLC, provides multiple hot lunch offerings daily, as well as desserts and other a la carte options on any regular school day. Our Father's Table accepts cash and card (credit and debit but not prepaid gift cards) for student payment. There is no pre-ordering required as students will pay for their food, receive a ticket from the cashier for the purchased items, and then proceed through the various lines in the server.

Hot lunch will not be provided on half days of school: there will not be hot lunch provided for on the first day of school, Wednesday, Aug. 19^th.

For students who wish to bring their own lunch, there are coolers to store cold lunches during the morning and microwaves available to heat up lunches as needed. Students are also welcome to store their lunches in their locker or in their backpack.

12.) Athletic Pre-Participation Physicals Required for All Athletes

All student-athletes need to have an Athletic Pre-Participation Physical and Form completed and submitted to the Athletic Department by Aug. 3rd. The necessary forms can be accessed through your family's MyCLHS portal under Resources --> Athletics. Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook will be hosting sports physicals at its clinic in Willowbrook on Saturday, Aug. 1st from 8 am until noon. 13.) CLHS Official School Spirit Store

Concordia's official school spirit store is www.ShopCLHS.com and available 24/7 year-round. Select items and sizes will be available for in-person purchase at Final Registration by the stage in the Crusader Hall.

Items purchased online usually take about 2-3 weeks to fulfill unless some items are already in supply. Completed orders can be picked up for free from the school main office with Mrs. Glorimar or shipped for an additional cost.
