What do you love about Concordia Lutheran High School, and why are you here?

I love the overall atmosphere and the relationships I have with the faculty/staff and students.  The environment that Concordia provides for its students is second to none when it comes to secondary education.  The students are wonderful, the faculty are very encouraging, and the administration is very supportive of what we as teachers are trying to accomplish in and out of the classroom.  It's rare to come across a high school that has so much going for it.  I feel completely at home here and couldn't ask for a better situation.  I strongly believe that I am at Concordia because God has called me to serve this school.  I have been given the opportunity to be a teacher, mentor and guide to our students and I intend to fulfill that opportunity to the best of my ability.  Whether it be through music and choir, religion class, or just the day-to-day interactions between me and my students, I want them to walk away from their experience at Concordia impacted in a positive, Christian way.  I don't want to be the teacher who comes to school just to lecture during class and then leave at the end of the day.  I want to build relationships with students and provide them with knowledge and tools to be successful outside of Concordia.  It's such an incredible blessing to be at such an amazing school like Concordia.  I'm extremely grateful for the opportunities I have been given and look forward to the many, many more that are to come.  To God be all Glory!

What do you love about Jesus?

Galatians 2:16-21, "...yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not! For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor. For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose."  For me, that verse says it all.  "I have been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."  Jesus has given us the gift of salvation.  We hear these words all the time.  Jesus, crucified for our sins, giving us eternal life.  It seems like at times that we take those events for granted.  Our Father gave up His only Son to rescue us from the eternal grave.  His only Son...sentenced to crucifixion!  How incredible is that to have a God who is willing to go to those lengths for give us lowly humans eternal life.  At what cost to usjQuery18305586664209924801_1476191201956  Absolutely nothing!  We have been given this gift of grace and are asked of nothing in return.  There is nothing that we can do ourselves to earn us the salvation that Jesus solely earned for us by His death.    That is what I love about Jesus.  His love for creation.  His love for us in the past, now, and in the future.  It will never, ever die.  Just as Jesus defeated death, He has given us that free gift so that we may defeat death also.
When I have free time I enjoy...

Golfing and skiing.  It's just unfortunate that both of those hobbies are quite pricey!  Along with that I enjoy all kinds of yard games, frisbee golf, and playing soccer.  I enjoy camping and the outdoors.  My dream home would be in the mountains.  As a choir director I of course enjoy listening to all kinds of music, and yes...classical choral music is one of them.  Lastly, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.  Without them life would be a complete bore.
